It has been a busy year so far, but one that has come with success.
One such success was receiving our Summative Designation from the Illinois State Board of Education in November.
Here is what was written to our families:
Dear Dongola Families,
The Illinois State Board of Education has released the annual Illinois Report Card at www.illinoisreportcard.com. The Report Card contains school performance data from the 2022-23 school year.
Schools are more than test scores. They are a home away from home for our students and staff. Our school focuses not only on academic success but also on social-emotional growth. We strive to forge strong bonds with our families and to prepare our students to thrive in the next step in their educational journey.
On our 2023 Report Card, we are proud to see:
- Both our Elementary and our Junior High are Commendable.
These results reflect the investments we have made in promoting the importance of learning, acquiring a new Reading and Math curriculum, establishing new activities for student/parent engagement, more narrowly focused on reading skills to enhance academic growth, building math foundational skills and promoting the importance of attendance.
Our teachers, administrators, and staff, in partnership with you, are continuing to focus on building a love for learning and building those vital foundational skills our students need in order to grow at each level of their learning.
Our summative designation of Commendable means our students have made considerable gains and the partnership between Dongola School and our parent partners is invaluable every step of the way.
Our Report Card is an opportunity we welcome to celebrate our strengths and reflect on our goals, so that every student can reach their fullest potential. We at Dongola believe every single student can meet high expectations and that you are a critical partner in your child’s education. When we all work together on behalf of our students, we can achieve more.
